    Data Centers engineering systems

    Effective exploitation of Data centers have very strict requirement to facilities, which host server, network and telecommunication equipment. Thus, it is necessary to create proper exploitation conditions, in compliance with security policies and provide access to resources.

    The complexity of building computing centers in the organization of unified design, integration and testing procedures. The quality of works performed highly influences on critically important indicators, such as reliability and accessibility of information services.

   Based on required level of reliability and information services accessibility, infrastructure subsystems and technology solution are being chosen.

  Life-support subsystems which are necessary for organization and maintain necessary exploitation conditions for equipment:

  • Guaranteed power supply subsystem, including uninterruptible power supplies and diesel generators;
  • General power supply subsystem, which does not require uninterruptible power supply;
  • General and reserve electric lightning;
  • Climatic subsystem, providing necessary temperature and humidity conditions;
  • Cabinets for server and network equipment;
  • Ventilation subsystem.

   Security subsystem. The value of corporate data is that execution of business processes and the existence of the enterprise as the whole, highly depends on safety and integrity of the information. On infrastructure level the following means are realized:

  • Fire alarm subsystem and gas extinguishing;
  • Security alarm, access control subsystems (i.e. using biometrical data and 24/7 video surveillance for visual control of events.

  Communication subsystems. The Saturation of Data Centers by network and server equipment determines the complexity of infrastructure, which consists of the following components:

  • subsystem embedded channels - for the protection and orderly installation of low-voltage and power lines;
  • cabling subsystem - for the formation of a single transmission mediuminformation;
  • internal telephony subsystem for voice communication.

     While building Data Center infrastructure, it may be necessary to perform additional construction works, such as ensuring the load capacity of overlap (up to 1 t / m 2), the unit raised floor, false ceilings, etc.

   Infrastructure subsystems are designed with consideration of increase number of servers, network equipment and their connection without idle. When building the capacity of the data center it is important to have current documentation of the current state of infrastructure and resources. Therefore, special attention devoted to paperwork.

   Reliability of Data Center infrastructure influences on general readiness of information system. If exploitation norms are not obeyed, even the most reliable equipment cannot provide necessary accessibility of information services. Thus we devote a lot of attention to infrastructure design: subsystems choice and technological solutions, establishing collaboration between them and service support.
